At LAW VU we recognise the importance of familiarising budding future attorneys with practice of law in the environment of a law firm. Our Internship Programme aims to provide our Interns a glimpse into our daily routine, in a learning, friendly and stimulating environment. It also provides a platform to the Interns to demonstrate their potential.

Our Internship Programme aims to bring out the best in the Interns by challenging them and helping them take the first few steps towards becoming attorneys.

At LVLF, our Interns learn the fine art of applying the principles of law to everyday business situations. Our well-rounded Internship Programme is replete with skill-building opportunities.

Our Internship Programme is designed to facilitate law students to apply, test and further hone their legal knowledge, skills and legal acumen acquired through their academic rigour in the law school within a professional environment. The Internship Programme further focuses on imbibing in the Interns a code of conduct for a legal professional.

There is a close coordination between the Attorneys and the Interns, whereby JSA Attorneys perform the role of mentors and role models for the Interns. This also helps in grooming LVLF Attorneys in the methodology of training and development. By assigning an Attorney as a guide for each Intern we aim to create Mentor & Peer relationships for Interns with Partners and Associates, respectively.

We have a structured Internship Programme detailing the roles and responsibilities of Interns, deliverables and timelines which we expect our Interns to adhere to. Scope of work for the Interns ranges from basic legal research, preparing case notes, drafting research memoranda, case briefs and to assist JSA attorneys in case preparation and transactions.

As part of the Internship Programme, Interns work with various practice groups in rotation. This provides exposure to different areas of law and a variety of legal issues. It provides an opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge and gain practical experience while developing team working skills. It provides intrinsic learning to hone and develop softer skills including cognitive skills, internal and external relationship management skills. Holistic personality development is essential for a future day successful lawyer.
